This is the website for the 1st Mindarie Scout Group.
We are a Scout Group here in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. Our Scout Meeting Hall is in Merriwa and we have lots of activities around Perth and the northern suburbs and camps throughout the South West.
We have four sections in our group Joeys, Cubs, Scouts and a new small Venturer Unit.
The success of our scout groups depends on strong adult support. Adult Leaders are enthusiastic and dedicated men and women from all walks of life who share a love of adventure and a desire to enrich young people’s lives.
* The commencement for advancement in Sections may vary up to 6 months
Please see each section for details of meeting nights and activities. Places are available in most sections - if a place not available immediately we do run a waiting list.
Please enjoy our welcome pack
A recent survey of volunteers in scouting found:
95% of our volunteers said that Scouting helped them improve their physical skills, including the improved ability to cope with outdoor conditions.
97% of our volunteers said that being involved helped them with relationship building.
41% of wider community organisations said that if Scouting was on a job applicant’s CV it would be a positive influence on their appointment.
We always need new leaders and committee members. Full training and mentoring will be given - you will not be thrown in at the deep end! Whilst it can be hard work at times the benefits to the young people and yourself are immeasurable.
